My Mum, Iris Dolling was always a keen supporter of my music and recording and was particularly proud of how well my daughter, Sophie Towns had progressed through her career in Musical Theatre so far.

Iris was born and grew up in Burton on Trent and worked in various jobs around the town. However, her passion was always around raising money for her beloved County Air Ambuilance charity and other institutions such as Ryder House and St Giles Hospice.

Over a 10 year period, alongside my Dad, Bill Towns, she raised over £35,000 for the Air Ambulance alone, along with countless thousands for the other worthy causes and was heralded as a major figiure in charitable work in the Burton area, receiving many great reviews from the local press and the organisations she helped.

Sadly, in Decemeber 2012, Iris passed away after a few months of illness through lung cancer.

She was fully behind the www.irismusic.co.uk facility and was very pleased to be associated with the promotion of local artistes, particularly the younger generation, who typically don't have access to high quality recording facilities.

Iris would be a regular visitor to the Brewhouse Arts Centre as a patron for the Little Theatre Company and really enjoyed offering her support to the local talent that often goes un-noticed

We are very proud to dedicate our facility to the memory and legacy of Iris Dolling, a wonderful charity campaigner and loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

Always in our thoughts...x
